Gangloff La Barbarine AOC Cote Rotie 2007
download pdfAbout
This is Gangloff's young Syrah vine Cuvee, with a bit of Viognier, grown in the Cote Blonde of Cote Rotie. With beautiful pure Syrah fruit, all blackberry, earth, black pepper and black coffee, it's on the elegant side of classic Cote Rotie. Drink this up to 5 years, then drink Sereine Noire.
Tasting notes
This has richly perfumed aromas of cassis, pepper, date, earth, coffee and black fruit confit. The palate is elegant and refreshing with gently astringent tannins, thus good with food. It's long and complete.
Vintage Notes
2007 has been celebrated as a vintage of a lifetime in the Southern Rhone. It was also superb in the Northern Rhone and the wines have unusual richness and volume. The key was the long, warm and dry autumn which brought about perfect ripeness.
